Carlos Alberto Vieira Gomes (aka Carlos Bala) was born in Maceió (AL), and began his career playing in balls, in 1970. In 1973 he moved to Recife (PE), where he played in clubs, and hotels, and in the Romançal Orchestra, created by Ariano Suassuna, the Municipal Band of Recife, and the Maestro Guedes Peixoto’s Frevo Orchestra. In 1978 he headed to São Paulo, where played, and recorded with Cyro Pereira, Chiquinho de Morais, Laércio de Freitas, Celso Pixinga, Eliane Elias, among others.
In 1985 he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where played, and recorded with Djavan, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, João Bosco, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Fagner, Nana Caymmy, Roberto Carlos, Jorge Vercilo, Márcio Montarroyos, Luis Avellar, Cristóvão Bastos, Vitor Santos, Nico Assumpção,Toninho Horta, Hélio Delmiro, Nivaldo Ornellas, among many others.
Today he is na independent musician and the drummer of best Djavan’s band!
