YGOR SAUNIER. ITALY

PhD student in music and Master’s Degree from UNESP (Paulista State University), the drummer and researcher of Amazonian musical rhythms and educator Ygor Saunier was born on January 26 January 26, 1987 in the city of Maués, Amazonas.

His artistic training was in part at Liceu de Artes e Ofícios Cláudio Santoro, where also held the chair of teacher of Percussion and Drums courses from 2012 to 2014.

 

In April 2015, he participated the Brazilian Jazz Extravaganza concert, in the United States, as a guest of the American bassist Matthew Parrish.

In August 2015, Ygor launched the book “Tambores da Amazônia: Ritmos musicais do Northern Brazil,” with sponsorship from Banco da Amazônia S/A.

The book is already considered a reference on the subject with national and international launch tours for for the promotion of workshops.

The “Drums of the Amazon” has also received important
awards, such as “Votes of Congratulations from the Federal Senate”, shortly before its
launch and the honor “Sons of Guaraná”, granted by the Maués (AM) City Hall.
Also recorded in 2016 the drums and percussions of the 2nd CD of the award-winning singer.

 

Ygor was nomination as a finalist in the Music Professionals Award in 2017, and in 2021, Ygor launches his 2nd book entitled “Amazon Drumming” in partnership with the renowned Mauricio Zottarelli.

 

He is currently living in Italy and touring internationally with the band Gen Rosso international Performance Arts Group, an important Italian band with 53 years of history, experience of about 200 tours and more than 50 albums recorded, with million spectators in tours and concerts performed in more than 50 countries.
